Student AmbassadorsStudent Ambassadors
The SPSU Student Ambassadors are high-energy students who act in conjunction with
the Recruitment Office to promote Southern Polytechnic State University through a
variety of campus events. SPSU Ambassadors volunteer to represent the University in
a responsible, ethical and professional manner, while portraying a positive image
of the institution on and off campus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete all mandatory training
- Conduct a minimum of 2 campus tours per semester for individuals or groups
- Attend monthly meetings
- Maintain an active e-mail address and current contact information
- Attend all campus Open Houses
- Volunteer for as many events as possible including, but not limited to, award ceremonies,
career days, college fairs, commencement, GA BEST; etc., which could be on or off
campus
- Find a replacement Ambassador if conflict arises with scheduled event
- Wear specified attire at functions
- Other duties as requested
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of one semester completed at SPSU
- Maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA
- Have excellent interpersonal & communication skills
- Demonstrate leadership potential & is reliable and responsible
- Have an energetic & motivated attitude
- Respect for diversity
- Keen knowledge of the University
- Flexibility and willingness to volunteer for events

At no time should the student ambassador speak in a negative manner about university
programs or faculty or staff. Ambassadors will be excluded from further participation
in the program if any of the following occur:
- Loss of good standing in the college or community
- GPA of less than 2.5 (overall)
- Poor performance at Ambassador events
- Failure to attend meetings
- Poor attitude
- Lack of enthusiasm and or motivation for the program and/or lack of support for fellow
Ambassadors.
