The UITS Classroom Technology Team supports technologies associated with physical and virtual classrooms. In support of the University mission, the Classroom Technology Team is led by the Assistant Director of Classroom Technology, and includes Classroom Support Technicians and a Quality Assurance Specialist. The Team focus involves campus collaboration through stakeholder focus groups to derive use cases that drive learning space technology design and decision-making. The Classroom Technology Team serves to facilitate the on-going discussion of emerging technologies used as teaching tools in today's higher education learning environments.
As classroom and learning technologies continually evolve, the Team will work with University teaching faculty to ensure usage and standard implementations work in concert. (Please refer to the collaborative standards workflow diagram in the navigation menu to learn more about this process.) The Classroom Technology Team supports a strategy such that classroom technologies will interoperate in a consistent and usable manner and function as an integrated tool that is easily manipulated in a dynamic learning environment. The Team’s goal is to ensure classroom technology is robust, while at the same time completely transparent to faculty and students who use it.
