This weekend conference is for you if you:
This conference will bring together 175-200 of Georgia's international and US students for a weekend of cross-cultural training, leadership development, and team-building. Students from colleges and universities all over Georgia participate in this event.
SPSU can send a total of 6 students and SPSU is able to pay the registration fee for the most qualified 6 students. Any remaining students will be required to pay the $85 fee on their own or request a student organization to sponsor them.
The sessions will include topics that have an international, multi-cultural and/or leadership focus. Past topics have included responsibilities of a global citizen, developing an international student organization, team building, business etiquette in different cultures, challenging stereotypes, culture of a specific country, presentation of student research performed abroad or on global issues etc
Transportation, lodging, and meals during the conference will be provided for all students. The Student Life Office will submit an excused absence request for all students with class conflicts on Friday, February 28th.
To be considered for participation in GILC, please complete and submit the application webform (link below) by the deadline. Only SPSU students are permitted to submit an application. Sponsorship by the SPSU will be determined based upon a student's level of interest in internationalization and multi-culturalism, leadership history, and involvement in student organizations. Preference will be given to students who have attended GILC less than two times.
Applicants will be notified of their selection via email by Friday, January 10, 2014.
