Dear Future SPSU Student:
Welcome to the Southern Polytechnic State University family!
The faculty and staff at Southern Polytechnic State University are invested in your personal and professional development during your college career. It is an exciting journey upon which we now embark, together!
FRESHMAN REQUIREMENT
We require every new incoming SPSU student UNDER the AGE of 23, to take MyStudentBody ESSENTIALS Course.
You may access the course beginning August 3, 2012.
You will need to complete the ESSENTIALS COURSE by September 9th, 2012.
THE COURSE IS A 3 PART MODULE: ALCOHOL, DRUGS, and SEXUAL ASSAULT.
YOU MUST COMPLETE and PASS ALL THREE!!
YOU WILL RECEIVE ONLY 3 ATTEMPTS TO PASS THE COURSE WITH A 80%.
Throughout the semester you will receive emails about other aspects of the MyStudentBody site.
NOTE: You must finish the course.
To take this course you will need a computer with Internet access and audio capabilities. If you do not have access to a personal computer, you can use any publicly available computer with Internet access.
Please note that the course includes three surveys that offer you feedback on your alcohol-related attitudes and behaviors. All survey responses are strictly confidential; SPSU will only receive information about the student body as a whole and will NEVER see your specific answers. It is strictly confidential.

PART I: Course instructions for self-registering students required to take a course
All Incoming Students under the age of You have been required to take MyStudentBody. Follow these instructions to get started:
NOTE: The course consists of multiple modules. Repeat steps 3-5 for each module required for the course. You must complete the course by SEPTEMBER 9th, 2012 with a passing score of 80%. You will have 3 attempts to complete the course.
You’ll return to the My Stuff page after receiving your certificate where you’ll be free to explore other areas of the website such as the library in the Student Center or ask questions in the Advice area.
PART II: Follow-Up Assessment
All courses include a follow-up assessment that helps you see how you have changed since you took the course. You will receive an email 60 days after you complete the course asking you to log in to MyStudentBody and complete the 10-minute assessment. Please fill out the assessment as soon as possible. The information learned from this assessment will help improve alcohol and drug educational programs on your campus. Your responses will be completely confidential.
IMPORTANT: Please add reminder@mystudentbody.com to your list of approved senders to make sure the follow-up email reaches you.
