SPSU and the campus community requires various support services from the SPSU Police Department. The Captain/Support Services oversees all support service efforts.
Some of these responsibilities include:
-- Managing all department records
-- Managing federal compliance issues in the areas of Uniform Crime Reporting Act and Jeanne Clery Campus Crime, Higher Education Opportunity Act, and Statistics Reporting Act
-- Managing state compliance issues regarding Georgia Crime Information Center and serve as the department's Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC)
-- Tracking budgetary resources and expenditures of the department
-- Managing all criminal investigations
-- Managing all department annual training requirements
-- Acting as department equipment custodian, to include fleet management
-- Serving as alarm/ access/ computer system administrator
-- Liaison for all vendors of SPSU alarms/ access/ surveillance systems
-- Overseeing and managing all SPSU electronic surveillance systems
-- Acting as department procurement officer
-- Liaison for all vendors of departmental equipment requiring service
-- Overseeing and managing all department key inventories
-- Managing department personnel performance by implementing quality control assessments
