About Interim President Koger

Biography

Ron R. Koger became the Interim President of Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, GA in July 2014.  He graduated from Pittsburg State University (Math Education) in Pittsburg, Kansas and received his masters and doctorate from the University of Kansas.  Ron worked in public schools in Kansas and in hospital administration before moving into higher education.

His roles in higher education have centered around Enrollment Management at Pittsburg State University, Illinois Institute of Technology, Indiana State University, The University of Alabama in Huntsville, and Southern Polytechnic State University prior to assuming the Interim Presidency.  He has also served as Interim Chief Information Officer and Interim Executive Director for Advancement at SPSU.

Dr. Koger has held the Presidency of SACAC (Southern Association of College Admission Counseling); Presidency of NACAC (National Association of College Admission Counseling); has served as Chair of the ACT Council of Georgia; and has served on two recent Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on College teams.
