SPSU has developed creative partnerships with the goal of moving far beyond study abroad/student exchange programs. The partnerships include faculty professional development opportunities, articulated degree programs, short term seminars and study/travel experiences, joint projects between SPSU students and students at partner universities, and teaching abroad experiences. SPSU has also assisted in the creation of an institution of higher learning overseas and seeks through its international programs to provide educational experiences for SPSU and foreign students, to facilitate pedagogical changes among partner universities who desire such changes, and to provide meaningful education to international students who will return to their home countries with the goal of helping to strengthen and develop the infrastructure of their countries. All of our partnerships are important, and nearly every one has remained active, in some cases now for as long as 10 to 15 years.

The degree programs in most of these partner institutions focus on the areas of science and technology, business, architecture and construction management, technical communications, computer science, and related areas which are also the foci of SPSU academic programs. We seek meaningful partnerships with institutions in which there is a good commonality of focus and purpose, and which can enable students at SPSU and partner universities to develop meaningful shared programs together. The goal is for a good wholistic educational experience both in academic and also in cultural and social areas.
For students who are studying at our partner universities, there are special applications and other admissions materials and procedures specifically developed for you. Please contact the Office of International Programs directly for more information and forms (send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org), and be sure to coordinate your efforts with the International Affairs adviser at your home university. Current international students who desire to become double degree students or to transfer to SPSU in degree-seeking status are also welcome to contact the Office of International Programs for assistance.
