Mission
The mission of the SPSU Archives & Special Collections is to collect, arrange, describe, preserve, and provide access to those items that are valuable as artifacts of Southern Polytechnic's history, and to provide students, faculty, and staff with a space to use rare or fragile research materials.
Location
The Archives & Special Collections department is located on the second floor of the
L.V. Johnson Library. From the main floor of the library, go up the ramp towards the
Reference Collective/Hive Computer Lab and take the stairs or the elevator to the
second floor. Archives & Special Collections will be to your right at the southwestern
end of the building in Suite 263 (library map).
Access
Archives and Special Collections are closed collections comprised of materials that do not circulate. Materials must be used inside the archives reading room under staff supervision. Access to the collections is available from 9 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday. We strongly encourage you to contact us before your visit so that we can identify and prepare material that will be most useful to you.
