Which online graduate program is right for you?

Every graduate program we offer in the English, Technical Communication & Media Arts (ETCMA) department at Southern Polytechnic State University (SPSU) shares a focus on user-centered communication, both verbal and visual. Each program is rigorous, comprehensive, and challenging, and includes both theory and practice.

Graduate Degree Programs

Each Master's degree program is 36 credit hours (12 classes) and is conducted entirely online.

Applicants are those with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

MSc Information Design & Communication
This graduate degree program provides you with advanced knowledge and skills in persuasive communication. You can focus on verbal or visual communication or you can pursue a balanced course of study in both.
MSc Information & Instructional Design
This graduate degree program delivers the advanced knowledge and skills you'll need to design and implement unique learning solutions for adults in the workplace.

Graduate Certificate Program

The graduate certificate program is 18 credit hours (6 classes) and is conducted entirely online.

Applicants are those with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

After completion, you may apply for admission to the MSc in Information Design & Communication program with a portfolio of your work in the certificate program.

Graduate Certificate in Technical Communication
This graduate certificate program parallels the graduate degree programs. You will select from and take the same courses as those students pursuing an MSc, but you will finish in half the time.

Advanced Graduate Certificate Programs

Each advanced graduate certificate program is 18 credit hours (6 classes) and is conducted entirely online.

Applicants are those who already have a master's degree from an accredited institution or a GPA of 3.5 or above in the Graduate Certificate in Technical Communication from SPSU.

Advanced Graduate Certificate in Visual Communication
This advanced graduate certificate gives you expertise in the theory and practices of visual communication.
Advanced Graduate Certificate in Content Strategy
This advanced graduate certificate gives you expertise in planning, designing, and implementing content.
Advanced Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design
This advanced graduate certificate gives you expertise in designing instructional solutions for adult learners.
Advanced Graduate Certificate in Communications Management
This advanced graduate certificate gives you expertise in managing communication processes and professionals.
Advanced Graduate Certificate in User Experience
This advanced graduate certificate gives you expertise in designing for and meeting user needs across media.
