"Transitioning to a new school is never an easy task, for new students or for transfer students. I am a transferring Electrical Engineering Senior at Southern Poly and it is a challenging process but not insurmountable. Getting my paperwork in order, filling out documents, ordering transcripts, and becoming a student was the easy part, but the most difficult part of the transfer process is class registration. Initially, it seemed like I was unable to get the classes I required to matriculate properly toward the ever-illusive planned graduation date(Fall 2015 or Spring 2016), but thanks to Southern Poly's Electrical Engineering department it has been much easier. Jessi Jones, Lance Crimm, and Laura Goodnow have been crucial in communicating between departments, schools, and people to get the necessary files completed for class overrides, substitutions, and exemptions. Without this department's dedication and commitment to my success, I wouldn't have a schedule that fits around my full time work schedule. My optimism is renewed at this institution thanks to this team's effort and communication. I look forward to working with you all for the next few semesters and into my professional career. Thanks for all your help to this point and for the future assistance I am sure you will provide!"
Jonathan E Law, EE Degree Candidate
"I'm still amazed how far I’ve come through my college life, and I am so grateful for all the experiences I’ve been through. I want to give a special thanks to Professor Lance Crimm for playing a major role in directing me and guiding me through my journey. Also, I want to give a big thanks to Doctor Julie Newell and Shirley Harris for helping me through my difficult times dealing with both the registrar's office and registration. I also want to give a big thanks to Doctor Ying Wang, Professor Scott Tippens and Doctor Sumit Chakravarty for working around my schedule so I can graduate. I made a mistake of repeating a class, and I remember in EE 1000 Professor Crimm always advise all students who passed a class NOT to retake it. But unfortunately, I didretake a class and wound up performing poorly the second attempt. But fortunately, all the people mentioned above helped me tremendously so I can finally be done with my undergrad. The EE department truly rocks. We have great faculty and stuff that are committed to helping students reach all their dreams."
