Outside the classroom, the department's student organizations were a great way to get involved with the campus community. The Rubble House project, our one-of-a-kind Steel Bridge team, and my experiences with the ASCE chapter led to some amazing friends and connections with professionals in the industry.

Thank you CET faculty. With your help and individualized classroom experience, I was able to excel at my recent internship at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The ability of the CET faculty to care about each student's success inside and outside of the classroom is what motivated me to continue to pursue internships and research experiences outside of the classroom. This motivation I strive to pass on to the students I mentor at a local high school. Coming from a family with parents who are not scientist and engineers, I rely heavily on the CET faculty for a lot of my career advice. I have to say that they have stirred me in the right path so far. I know that our communication will not conclude once I graduate and I find great comfort in know that. Thank you CET faculty.

"Dear CET Faculty; I just wanted to let all of you know that I was recently hired by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) in the Pre-Construction Design department in District 3 at the Thomaston office. I would like to thank all of you for everything you did for me while I was at Southern Poly which helped me to finish my degrees and pursue my career. I started on July 18^th and will be starting a district training rotation soon with all the departments then spend about six months at the Atlanta office for training. After that I can return to the design department or the department of my choosing. Once again thank you for all your help and support"
