Technical Writing Techniques

Part 1

Learn the techniques and methodologies you need as you transition into a technical writing career in this two-day course. Learn documentation and software skills, including creating multiple types of technical documents. This course, developed in conjunction with ProEdit, covers technical writing processes and tasks, as well as the fundamentals of technical documents. In a workshop setting, the student will create sample technical documents. Exercises, handouts, hands-on labs, and assignments will help you grasp the skills to complete technical writing projects. (1.2 CEUs)

Prerequisite: Technical Writing Fundamentals or Successful Pass of Test.

Part 2

Learn how to plan, lead, and complete technical writing projects. In this two-day class, developed in conjunction with ProEdit, you will create project-specific documents like project plans, statements of work, and status reports. Additionally, you will complete sample technical writing projects while applying skills learned. Successful completion of this course will certify you in the skills needed to be a technical writer in today’s documentation teams. (1.2 CEUs)

Prerequisite: Technical Writing Techniques - Part 1.
