and this is encouraged through the staff-camper mentoring relationships. These camps
are designed and facilitated by SPSU students, staff and affiliates, so the learning
permeates the entirety of the program. Through SPSU Campus Services, your child will
get to know the Camp Staff, and will learn a lot about SPSU and the many possibilities
that exist here.
The mission of the Aerospace Engineering Camp is to provide practical hands on knowledge to future engineers. Student will get the chance to experience and learn theory through exciting real world applications.
The mission of the 3D Printing and Engineering Design Summer camp is intended to provide campers with the tools to bring design ideas to life. Imagining a concept in your mind is just the beginning. A product may then be brought to life through the application of advanced engineering tools like Computer Aided Design (CAD), 3D scanning and 3D printing. Campers will experience a variety of 3D printing processes and build a 3D printer to print their designs.
The Civil Engineering Camp provides an excellent opportunity for students to investigate engineering as a potential major and career. Campers also get the opportunity to compete in the 5th annual Balsa Bridge Competition. The camp workshop is designed to introduce students to engineering concepts, hands-on laboratory experiences, and hands-on building projects.
The Poly Program is a summer day camp, available to rising 1st through 8th grade students. Fun, standards-based math and science lessons are incorporated into the exciting camp programming to ensure that students keep their minds fresh over the summer break and are one step ahead for the next school year.
Each week of camp has a different theme in which all activities and curriculum sessions are related. Monday through Thursday, campers will participate in fun math and science sessions. Fridays are considered "Friday Fun Days" in which the curriculum sessions are replaced with special programming that goes along with that week's theme.
